Job Description
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the Client SW Strategic Products to create, build, and strengthen its industry-first solutions that involve system health and diagnostics/telemetry product intelligence across its CPG Serviceability SW Stack encompassing pre-boot, Recovery OS, and Windows OS-based environments. This is in collaboration with several internal and external stakeholders, including Dell ecosystem partners, services/repair/factory, IPS, marketing, and 3rd-party teams.
You will:
- Work with a set of the best brains inside Dell as well as in the industry SMEs, leading the next-generation Client PCs powered with AI and client SW products that deliver a world-class customer experience.
- Be responsible for product design and development, innovation/patentable ideas, and product TTM towards next-gen client commercial/consumer platforms.
- Develop, debug, and enhance existing features and functionality in OS-based diagnostics and telemetry products and their underlying client platform UEFI/FW-related products.
- Be responsible for Agile-based development and ensuring world-class quality metrics.
Essential Requirements
- 0–2 years of relevant work experience in software development of Windows OS-based software products using Windows .NET/C#/C++, with solid programming and debugging skills.
- Hands-on experience in problem-solving and Agile-based development of platform software comprising one or more areas such as system health management, intelligent diagnostics, telemetry, and data analytics for client PC platforms.
- Good knowledge of Windows internals and its security, WMI/ACPI, MFC, WCF, WPF, PC architecture, Intel/AMD processor architecture (x64) and ARM64 architecture, and industry standards that affect client-server architecture, hybrid cloud support, SW UX/performance/security/interoperability.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with automation within an Agile development team as part of a CI/CD pipeline (zero-touch automation).
- Experience developing and maintaining test automation within automation frameworks/test executives.
