Job Description

Contribute to the design and development of software solutions, leveraging general domain knowledge and foundational business understanding. Troubleshoot code issues and continuously enhance IQVIA’s platforms to meet evolving user needs.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in designing and developing software solutions across the full application stack, including front-end and back-end components.
  • Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend services using Python and web frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI (preferably Flask).
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless integration with frontend and external systems.
  • Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), writing optimized SQL queries.
  • Implement and manage ORM-based models for scalable data access, preferably using SQLAlchemy.
  • Ensure application robustness, security, and responsiveness in high-performance production environments.
  • Apply sound knowledge of data structures and algorithms to solve real-world problems.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers; familiarity with React.js is a plus.
  • Participate in Agile development practices (Scrum), including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Write unit tests, conduct code reviews, and follow best practices to maintain high-quality code standards.
  • Continuously analyze and improve system design, performance, and scalability.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Java, PHP, Ruby, or Python.
  • Python skills with experience in at least one web development framework (preferably Flask).
  • Basic understanding of web development principles and backend architectures.
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), query optimization, and ORM frameworks.
  • Familiarity with website development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; experience with React and Node.js is a bonus.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments and cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Good to have skills like AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS, etc.) for deployment and scaling.
  • Good to have modern CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
  • Good to have Basic understanding or hands-on experience with React.js or frontend integration.
