Job Description
We are looking for a GCP Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to deploy, configure, and support cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. The role is hands-on — provisioning and administering GCP resources, supporting day-to-day operations, and assisting with automation and governance under the guidance of senior engineers.
In this role, you will
- Provision, configure, and manage core GCP infrastructure — Compute Engine VMs, persistent disks, Cloud Storage, VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, and load balancers.
- Support compute, storage, and networking operations, including availability and performance monitoring.
- Implement and manage IAM roles, policies, and service accounts, and basic organization/project-level configurations.
- Assist with provisioning through Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or Deployment Manager) and reusable scripts.
- Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting using Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging (operations suite).
- Perform routine operational tasks — patching, snapshots/backups, instance group scaling, and resource labelling/cost hygiene.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and connectivity issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
- Support project onboarding and landing zone activities under defined governance standards.
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, and configuration records.
- Collaborate with platform, networking, security, and application teams on deployment requests.
What you must have to be considered
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience administering GCP infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of GCP core services: Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Persistent Disk, VPC, firewall rules, IAM, and Cloud KMS.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, subnets, routing, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Deployment Manager) and scripting (gcloud CLI, Python, or Bash).
- Experience with GCP monitoring/logging (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Audit Logs).
- Awareness of cloud security, IAM, and labelling/governance best practices.
- Good troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
These will help you succeed
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins).
- Basic understanding of the GCP resource hierarchy (Organization/Folders/Projects), landing zones, and the Cloud Architecture Framework.
- Awareness of GCP quotas/limits and cost-optimization practices.
- Certifications: Google Associate Cloud Engineer or Cloud Digital Leader.
