Project Management: Create and manage detailed project plans, ensuring seamless coordination of multiple projects simultaneously. Proactively identify ways to advance project activities.
Business Case Development: Analyze and evaluate ideas, preparing and presenting compelling business cases to Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams.
Design Development: Develop concept designs related to sheet metal and plastics using advanced design methodologies and techniques.
Design & Idea Analysis: Perform comprehensive analysis using NUDs, DFMEA, Risk Analysis, and RCA. Create and manage design verification and test plans.
Design Reviews & Approvals: Lead and coordinate design reviews, ensuring approvals from all relevant cross-functional teams.
Simulation & Testing: Oversee simulations and physical tests to validate ideas and design concepts, ensuring they meet required standards.
Supplier Collaboration: Work with suppliers through the sourcing team on sample development, prototyping, tooling, and timeline management.
Implementation Support: Coordinate the creation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and collaborate with Manufacturing teams to implement ideas effectively.
Teardown & Benchmarking: Support VAVE team activities, including product teardown, benchmarking, and idea generation to drive innovation.
Strong project management capabilities.
Expertise in sheet metal and plastic design methodologies.
Proficiency in cost analysis and should costing for concept designs.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, setups, and routing.
Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) processes.
Proficient in DFMEA and functional analysis.
Experience with component testing and qualification methods.
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
Familiar with analytical and CAD software.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
