Skills and competencies

  • Experience in quality assurance or customer support role troubleshooting web-based software
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Proficient in software to track work progress and to submit, track, and manage defects (Jira, Rally or similar)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, respond to tight deadlines
  • A self-starter, solution-oriented team player who can actively communicate their progress and blockers to project leaders
  • Detail orientation with ability to deeply understand the subject matter and user flows
  • Ability to work in effectively with distributed teams
  • Familiarity with financial or banking software is preferred

Role Description

  • In this professional position, the candidate will design, write, and execute functional tests
  • They will assist in the design and prioritization of a maintainable and robust test automation framework as well as the analysis of automation results
  • They will assist with clarification of functional and non-functional requirements. Candidate will also use bug tracking systems to submit, track and manage defects
  • They will analyze test results across the full stream and provide meaningful reports to project team
  • They will maintain software testing artefacts and will use queries to create test data and analyze results
  • Candidate will adopt recommended process and execution improvements for the QA phases of the SDLC and will be expected to use tools to work efficiently including available and relevant AI
  • They will train less experienced team members. Candidate will reproduce and analyze clients’ issues
  • Additionally, they will assist in project planning including work breakdown structure, estimates, timelines related to QA tasks, status reporting and project closeout specific to testing

Additional Information

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
