Description for Software Engineer
In this role, you’ll help us define and deliver the next generation of Pega platform, driving the low-code capabilities that enable our clients to build amazing user interfaces and data visualization capabilities and rapidly deploy them in a matter of weeks.
What You’ll Do at Pega:
Develop: Design, develop, and test high-quality reporting visualizations and repeating components (like Table, Gallery etc.) using JavaScript/TypeScript and React within an Agile environment. Look outward to identify the latest data visualization trends and keep abreast of web and accessibility standards. Showcase how to use the latest and greatest to deliver some easy-to-use visualization technology for the Pega platform and our different applications.
Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code with a strong emphasis on performance, scalability, and reusability.
Component Architecture:
Use HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+), along with React, TypeScript to Develop reusable and modular repeating components following best practices.
Proficiently manage state using technologies like Redux and ensure smooth data flow and application state consistency.
Tooling and Build Systems: Configure and optimize build tools like Webpack or other bundling technologies to streamline development workflows.
Testing: Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure robustness and reliability of applications.
Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and optimize web applications for speed and scalability.
Advocate and apply accessibility best practices to ensure inclusive and compliant user experiences.
Bring a keen eye for usability, ensuring that every feature enhances the overall user experience and meets design specifications.
Contribute to and maintain documentation of UI components and development processes.
Drive innovation in development by staying updated with the latest tools, frameworks, and practices
Work with the Product Owner and other developers to refine work and drive successful feature completion

You are a front-end web developer passionate about the latest web technologies and 3rd party frameworks
Front end, user experience, and data visualization excites you and you understand how to present data in an easy to use and compelling way.

What You’ve Accomplished:
2-3 years of professional experience in UI Engineering in agile/scrum environments.
Expertise in Frontend Technologies:
Advanced proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
In-depth understanding of React.js and its core principles, including React Hooks, state management, and component lifecycle.
Strong experience with TypeScript and its advanced features.
Bonus points for: Object-Oriented Programming language such as Java, C++, or C#; experience with writing test automation using tools such as JUnit, Jasmine, Puppeteer, Playwright
Experience writing unit and integration tests using testing frameworks like Jest and React Testing Library.
Basic understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a Scrum team, with strong communication skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
