Job Description
Poshmark is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Intern to join our growing Engineering team. You will work on developing, maintaining, and executing test automation to ensure the highest quality of our mobile and web applications. This role is ideal for someone passionate about automation, eager to learn modern testing frameworks, and excited to contribute to a large-scale, high-traffic product ecosystem.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn how to build testing infrastructure, write reliable automation scripts, and collaborate with developers to improve code quality and performance. Over the course of the internship, you’ll gain hands-on experience in functional, integration, and regression testing, while working alongside talented engineers who are redefining social commerce at scale.
Responsibilities
- Learn and contribute to designing and developing automated test cases for mobile, web, and API platforms.
- Work closely with developers to understand new features and design appropriate test coverage.
- Execute automated and manual test cases, report defects, and help with debugging.
- Assist in maintaining and improving existing test automation frameworks.
- Participate in code reviews, QA stand-ups, and feature planning discussions.
- Develop scripts and small tools to support testing activities and improve coverage.
6-Month Accomplishments
- Gain familiarity with Poshmark’s automation framework and testing tools.
- Contribute to writing new test cases and automating repetitive scenarios.
- Execute and monitor regular automation runs, report bugs, and assist in issue triage.
- Demonstrate understanding of mobile and API test automation workflows.
12-Month Accomplishments
- Contribute to enhancing test automation frameworks in collaboration with SDETs and developers.
- Design and implement end-to-end automated tests for key user flows.
- Participate in evaluating and integrating new automation tools or methodologies.
- Showcase improvement in test coverage and overall testing efficiency across one or more product areas.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals — algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
- Basic programming or scripting experience in Python, Java, JavaScript, or Kotlin.
- Familiarity with at least one test automation framework such as Selenium, Appium, or Cypress.
- Exposure to API testing using tools like Postman or REST Assured.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and build tools like Jenkins.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills, with an eye for detail and a passion for quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
- Prior experience developing or testing mobile or web applications.
- Knowledge of SQL and basic database testing.
