Description for Junior Test Engineer
As a Junior Test Engineer – Embedded Systems, you will be an integral part of the testing team, focusing on ensuring the quality of embedded systems and hardware-software-firmware integration. This is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with 1-2 years of experience to work on innovative products and grow within the team.
The Requirements:
0-2 years of experience in testing embedded systems or recent graduation in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Basic understanding of embedded systems, including microcontrollers, sensors, and communication protocols.
Exposure to software testing methodologies, tools, and processes, especially in the context of hardware-software integration.
Familiarity with testing tools like Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, or similar hardware-related test equipment is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with embedded system languages (C/C++) or scripting languages (Python) is a bonus.
Exposure to Agile testing practices preferred.
Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
Work hours from 5am – 2pm IST (1 hour lunch break).

The Responsibilities:
Develop and execute manual and automated test cases for embedded systems, ensuring hardware and software work in harmony.
Assist in the design and development of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
Test embedded firmware functionality and its integration with hardware systems.
Perform root cause analysis for issues found during testing, assisting senior engineers in diagnosing and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with hardware, software, and firmware teams to ensure product functionality and reliability.
Validate system performance, robustness, and functionality, and document test results in clear reports.
Work closely with the QA team to contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and tools.
Participate in the review of technical requirements to ensure testability.
Report, track, and manage bugs using bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
Strong interpersonal collaboration skills.
Experience working with offshore teams and managing testing activities across multiple time zones.
