Associate DevOps Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance and improvement of CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity, GitHub Actions, or similar)
• Assist with provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, etc) using IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
• Monitor system health, respond to alerts, and participate in on-call rotations with senior support
• Containerize applications and assist with Kubernetes or Docker Compose deployments
• Write and maintain automation scripts (Bash, Python, or similar)
• Collaborate with development teams to improve build, test, and release workflows
• Contribute to documentation for runbooks, deployment procedures, and infrastructure diagrams
• Participate in incident postmortems and help implement follow-up improvements

Required Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or systems/infrastructure role (internships count)
• Foundational understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration
• Familiarity with at least one cloud provider (AWS preferred)
• Basic experience with version control (Git)
• Some exposure to containerization (Docker)
• Comfortable writing basic scripts to automate repetitive tasks

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Kubernetes or container orchestration
• Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, etc)
• Cloud certification (AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, etc.)
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, firewalls)

Soft Skills

• Strong curiosity and eagerness to learn in a fast-moving environment
• Good communication skills, comfortable asking questions and flagging blockers early
• Methodical troubleshooting approach
• Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
