Graduate Trainee, Engineering Tools and Services

In this role, you will work with cross functional teams ranging from PON, Ethernet switching and routing software, subscriber management for Triple Play services, performance monitoring to network management to build, integrate, unit test and support software modules within a large-scale system.

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented entry-level engineer to support cloud-native CI/CD and DevOps initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in build, release, and deployment processes for microservices, along with exposure to modern DevOps tooling, containerization, and AI-driven pipeline optimization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist in configuring and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines for cloud-based microservices
  • Support branch management, code promotions, and release workflows under guidance
  • Contribute to automation of build and deployment processes using tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo.
  • Gain hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Work with artifact repositories (Artifactory, Nexus) to manage and version build artifacts
  • Document workflows, troubleshooting steps, and create internal FAQs/technical guides
  • Collaborate with team members to understand and apply CI/CD best practices
  • Use Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence) for issue tracking, source control, and pipeline execution
  • Participate in AI-driven initiatives such as:
  • Predictive build failure detection
  • Automated pipeline optimizations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Graduating 2025 or 2026)
  • Foundational knowledge of:
  • Linux/Unix systems
  • Shell scripting or PHP (or equivalent scripting exposure)
  • Understanding of:
  • CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices
  • Computer architecture, operating systems, data structures, and databases
  • Exposure to one or more programming languages (Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs and YAML configurations
  • Interest in AI/ML applications in DevOps or software automation
